Schemes and descriptions of children's blankets with knitting needles: Heart, Star and others. Children's blankets with knitting needles with a diagram and description What materials to choose for knitting a baby blanket

Good afternoon, dear needlewomen!

Knitting for children, namely a blanket, is a very necessary thing in a family with a baby. The blanket will be useful on the street, in a crib, in a stroller, at discharge or at an appointment at the clinic, or maybe at a themed photo shoot. In the future, it can be used as a mat during games on the floor. If you have at least some crochet skills, then this master class is for you!

Crochet blanket with hearts

The blanket is crocheted, the main pattern is cones. See how to knit this pattern in our previous master class.

Consumption: For knitting we need six skeins of yarn of different colors, including a whole skein for tying and joining parts (we have 100 grams per 336 meters). Special children's yarn marked baby is best. For knitting we used a hook No. 3.5.

The principle of knitting such a blanket is to knit individual squares with hearts, which will subsequently be connected to each other, forming a whole fabric. The squares must be strictly the same in length and width.

In our case, the squares turned out to be approximately 10 by 10 centimeters, 70 pieces, so the finished product will be 100 cm by 70 cm (7 squares wide and 10 long)

Keep in mind that even yarn from the same company can be of different thicknesses, so compare the squares while knitting and adjust the density.

A beautiful discharge gift for a newborn is ready!

Plaid hearts have been trending lately. This is a good decoration in a children's room, and you can also wrap your baby in the cold season. It is very easy to give a gift to your children by knitting such a blanket. There are many different ways to do this work, you can knit it with knitting needles, crochet or on a knitting machine.

For those who like to do handicrafts, it will not be difficult to knit such a blanket. First of all, you need to choose suitable threads, and it is important that they are soft, then the product will be pleasant to the touch.

  • Yarn selection

When choosing yarn, you need to remember that the density of the blanket will depend on the thickness of the thread, so whoever wants to have good volume chooses a thicker thread. The quality of the yarn also affects the structure of the fabric. For example, a woolen thread will make a very warm blanket, and with the addition of polyacrylic, the product will not stretch much. To make the product soft, you need to knit it loosely.

  • How to determine the amount of yarn
  • Color selection

For girls, it is better to choose colors such as pink, red or purple. For boys - blue, blue, green. The plaid will turn out beautiful if you alternate colors, making it multi-colored

Shadow patterns with knitting needles, heart pattern

Even a beginner who has mastered the basics of knitting and knows how to knit two basic loops can make such patterns. They consist of alternating front and back stitches; using this technique, you can knit entire pictures onto the canvas.

  • "Simple Hearts"

A very simple knitting, here the main pattern is hearts, it is done on the background of the knit stitches with a purl pattern, and, conversely, on the purl background with knit stitches. The hearts are located evenly on the canvas, every 10-15 cm, their size depends on the number of loops, you can make small 10-16 loops or large 20-30 loops.

  • "Heart in squares"

The blanket is made in squares, each of which has a pattern - hearts on the background of purl loops. Each square is knitted according to the same pattern and consists of 28 loops. Starting from the fourth row, hearts begin to form from the middle loop by replacing the purl loops with knit stitches.

This blanket for newborns will be a little difficult to make, but it is very unusual and beautiful.

The pattern is knitted on knitting needles. Such a heart consists of “eyes”, which have the outlines of the heart itself and are performed as follows: in the front row instead of knitting 1 person. 1 purl. We make a double yarn over, winding the thread on the knitting needle twice. In the purl row, the yarn over is knitted with a purl loop.

We knit a blanket with hearts using a granny square

This is a very old and simple knitting method that our grandmothers used. The blanket consists of many individually connected squares that are sewn or tied together. You can knit or crochet as you wish.

Blanket of granny squares with big hearts

When crocheting, the motifs start from the middle, then expand by knitting several double crochets from one loop. To achieve greater softness and airiness in the product, we make stitches with two or three crochets, and vice versa, knitting stitches with one crochet or single crochet will give density to the blanket.

Squares are knitted with knitting needles from bottom to top. Each square is knitted separately, then they are connected to each other. You can connect using a hook or a needle.

Plaid with hearts with lush columns (voluminous)

Let's start with the most common blanket - with voluminous hearts made of lush columns. There is no pattern as such here - ordinary single crochets are knitted, alternating in a certain sequence of lush stitches. It is from the lush columns that the heart is made.

Below are examples of such blankets. Please note: there are two photographs presented for a reason. In one case, the plaid is knitted from square motifs, which are sewn or connected to each other at the final stage. In another case, a continuous knitting option. You can knit the way you like.

Scheme

To knit a motif for the same blanket as in the photo above, just carefully count the stitches. And using the diagram below, your function is reduced to a minimum, because the number of single crochets in a row is already indicated.

The arrows show the direction of knitting. Red numbers on the diagram- number of single crochets. Otherwise everything is standard.

Video tutorial

A series of video tutorials on crocheting a blanket with voluminous hearts has been made for beginners. Enthusiastic reviews from novice needlewomen indicate that the knitting method is clearly explained. Please note: the master class consists of two parts.

Plaid with small hearts

Volumetric hearts are beautiful. But sometimes you want something more tender. In this case, you should consider a crocheted blanket with a pattern of small hearts. This knitting option is both simpler and more difficult at the same time. On the one hand, there is no need to knit and then sew together individual motifs. On the other hand, this pattern requires a constant change of thread (so that the hearts are made in red tones).

Blanket knitted with the “Small Hearts” pattern

Scheme

It's hard to make a mistake when knitting this pattern. The main thing is to cast on the correct number of loops (based on the pattern repeat). The pattern is repeated every 3 rows in height. Columns that are gray are the background. The colored columns are hearts, which means they need to be knitted in the appropriate color.

Pattern repeat- 7 loops + 1 loop for symmetry.

Scheme of the “Small Hearts” pattern for a crochet blanket

Description

VP- air loop, CCH- single crochet stitch, RLS- single crochet.

Cast on a number of stitches that is a multiple of 7 + 1 stitches for symmetry.

1 row: 3 VP, 1 dc in the 5th loop from the hook, knit dc one at a time in a loop to the end of the row. Change thread color.

2nd row: 3 VP, 2 SSN with a common top in the last VP of the previous row, * 3 VP, skip 6 Dc from the previous row, 3 Dc with a common base and top, 2 Ch, 3 Dc with a common base and top in the same loop* - repeat until the end of the row. But! Finish the row by knitting an “incomplete heart” after 3 VPs: 3 DCs with a common top and base - complete the row here. Change thread color.

3rd row: 1 VP, 1 sc at the top of three loops of the previous row, * 2 VP, 2 Dc in the 5th and 6th Dc of the first row, 2 VP, 1 RLS in an arch of 3 VP between the halves of the heart* - repeat until the end of the row. At the same time, knit DC in the columns of the first row, choosing two middle columns between the hearts. Complete the row by knitting 1 sc in the last loop of the “incomplete heart”.

Repeat 1-3 rows until the end of knitting.

Video tutorial

A description of even such a simple pattern can raise questions. A video tutorial on knitting a pattern with hearts for a blanket from one of the needlewomen comes to the rescue. It contains a clear explanation of all the nuances. The moment of knitting the 3rd row is clearly shown, when the columns are knitted into the loops of the 1st row.

Blanket with flat hearts

The simplest motif with a crocheted heart is in the photo below. Knitting follows one of the standard square crochet patterns, and the heart is crocheted only by timely changing colors, and not by a special pattern.

It is inappropriate to analyze the knitting of a blanket from such heart motifs in the form of a description. Below is a diagram. The loops from which the heart is formed are marked in red - they need to be knitted in a different color. The black loops are the background loops.
