DIY Christmas tree decorations master class

Nowadays, you can easily buy Christmas tree decorations, but sometimes you really want to decorate your home with something unique, beautiful, and special. If you have a desire to create, try making a few toys yourself.

Multi-colored paper balls look stylish and modern on the Christmas tree. As a rule, they are made from colored paper, but let’s leave this material for the children in kindergarten, and use a spectacular scheme for making balloons from colorful greeting cards or calendars.

What you will need:

  • postcards;
  • stationery scissors;
  • glue;
  • cup.

Let's start our master class:

  • Using a glass, we make a mark on the cards and cut out eight identical circles.
  • Fold each circle in half, then fold the semicircle in half again.
  • Cut out one smaller circle and glue the folded circles to it.
  • Then we turn the workpiece over and glue the remaining four folded circles on the other side.
  • When the glue dries, unfold each circle and connect the walls to the adjacent circles. Use a hot gun or stapler.
  • Attach a ribbon to one side to make it easy to secure the ball to the tree.
  • The ball can be left as is, or decorated with acrylic paints, multi-colored glitters, and rhinestones.

You can make different balls from postcards using blanks of different shapes - triangles, semicircles, cones.

A great idea for homemade Christmas tree decorations is multi-colored designs made from wine corks. For work you may need:

  • paints;
  • ribbons;
  • beads;
  • wire;
  • threads;
  • Super glue;
  • special New Year's decor (miniature branches, snowflakes, berries in the snow, etc.).

For example, you can make a silhouette of a Christmas tree from cork:

  • Using a sharp knife, divide each cork into three equal parts. We prepare 18 blanks for work.

  • Now on a flat surface we lay out 6 corks in the form of Christmas trees and glue them together. You will get 3 Christmas trees.

  • While the trees are drying, cut three pieces of twine or ribbon, each 40 cm long. We make a loop in the middle.

  • We apply the knot to the top of the tree, and wrap the edges around the perimeter. We attach the twine with glue.
  • We tie the ends together and further strengthen them with a drop of glue.

  • We form the remaining two trees in the same way.

  • Additionally, the plugs on the Christmas trees can be decorated with rhinestones, confetti, sparkles, and painted.

Do you want to decorate your Christmas tree with unusual snowflakes?! Then go to the store for pasta! Choose rings, shells, spirals and other unusual shapes. Additionally, get hot glue and spray paint.

So let's get started:

  • Grab a handful of shells and wheels. It is advisable to choose products of the same size.

  • Come up with a snowflake template or use ready-made patterns.

  • Arrange the pasta in the required order and glue them together using hot glue.
  • Spray the snowflakes with spray paint and let dry.

  • Tie ribbon loops to the snowflakes.
  • If you want to make snowflakes more attractive, cover them with a thin layer of PVA and sprinkle with glitter.

  • By the way, it is not necessary to make snowflakes white. For example, you can add gold and get bright and mysterious snowflakes...

  • ...or change direction and make a quirky creation out of navy shells and farfalle.

DIY Christmas tree decorations made of cotton wool, with photos step by step

Cotton wool makes cute and budget-friendly Christmas tree crafts.

Let's make a cute Snow Maiden from cotton wool.

You'll need:

  • a lot of cotton wool;
  • varied decor;
  • glue;
  • newspapers;
  • textile paints;
  • wire.

How to make a toy:

  • Divide the roll of medical cotton into several fragments. Then color them using textile paints. This is easy to do: pour water into a fireproof container, add dye, add cotton wool and bring to a boil. Let stand for 15 minutes, remove the cotton wool from the water and squeeze it out.

  • The next stage is preparing the paste. Bring 200 ml of water to a boil, dissolve 2 tbsp in it. l. starch. Instead of paste, you can also use PVA.
  • If you want to make the Snow Maiden realistic, you will have to knead salt dough to make a face out of it. Combine two parts flour, part salt, and a little water. Form a face from the dough and dry it in the oven at 120⁰C. When the face has cooled, paint on the elements - eyes, nose, eyelashes. Attach it to the frame using hot glue.

  • Take a piece of wire and make a frame out of it that resembles a human body. Moisten lumps of cotton wool in the paste and wrap them around the parts of the workpiece, which are the future arms and legs. Then tear a piece of newspaper into pieces, moisten it with paste and wrap it around the “body”, modeling the silhouette of the Snow Maiden.

  • At the end, apply another layer of cotton wool with paste, from which you form clothes, a braid and a hat for the Snow Maiden. At this stage, make sure your fingers are clean, as your beauty’s outfit can easily get dirty.

A cute little lamb will complement the look of your holiday tree.

For creativity you need to prepare:

  • roll of cotton wool;
  • toothpicks;
  • paste;
  • cotton pads;
  • empty chicken egg;
  • syringe.

Master Class:

  • Make a paste from a glass of water and 2 tbsp. l. starch.

  • Pierce the washed egg with a syringe needle on one side and carefully remove its contents. Rinse the inside of the shell twice with water using the same syringe to prevent a rotten smell.
  • Divide the cotton wool into parts. Separately, prepare 15-20 cotton wool balls with a diameter of up to 2 cm.
  • Place the balls on toothpicks, moisten with paste and let dry.
  • Make two punctures on the side of the egg with a needle and insert the thread. The distance between the holes should be 2 cm.
  • Spread half the shell with paste and stick cotton wool on it. Do the same steps on the other side of the egg. You will get a ball of cotton wool with two threads.
  • While the cotton ball is drying, roll the pieces of cotton into four cones - these will be the legs. Paint them with black acrylic paint.
  • Make an oval 4-5 cm long from black cardboard. And also two smaller ovals - these are the ears. Immediately glue them to the sheep's head.
  • Cut out eyes from cotton pads and attach them to the head.
  • Glue the head and legs to the body using PVA. At the end, glue cotton balls - this will be the wool of the New Year's lamb.

This is a pleasant and exciting activity for the whole family, which will not leave anyone indifferent - you will spend several evenings with pleasure making Christmas tree decorations with your own hands.

What do we use for the material?

What do you need to make your own New Year's decorations? You can use almost anything you can get your hands on. If you want, you can buy special supplies (sold in craft stores), or you can use what you have in any home. So what to prepare:
  • plain paper (good for making patterns);
  • pencils and markers;
  • regular cardboard, white and colored (you can use velvet);
  • sharp scissors and a breadboard knife;
  • glue (PVA or glue gun with sticks);
  • threads and needles;
  • yarn of different shades;
  • various decorative materials - these can be sparkles, sequins, confetti, multi-colored foil, stickers and much more.
This is the basic set, but in order to make a specific Christmas tree toy, you may need something else.

Simple crafts from scrap materials

Of course, you've probably seen how New Year's balls are made from thread and glue with your own hands, but why not expand the range? We make various Christmas tree decorations with our own hands.

From yarn

This is a simple and at the same time spectacular Christmas tree decoration that can decorate any Christmas tree.

For production you will need:

  • yarn;
  • tailor's pins;
  • plate or bowl;
  • porous material (for example, a disposable tray);
  • cutting paper;
  • marker.
The threads need to be soaked in glue - the glue should saturate the yarn well, it is thanks to it that the decoration will keep its shape. While the threads absorb the glue, you need to make a template for your toy - draw what you want on paper. These could be DIY New Year's balls, strange birds or neat little houses. You can also try making a snowman, a couple of small trees and a star.

The template needs to be attached with pins (or ordinary toothpicks) to the porous material, and the design you need should be laid out on top - first the outline is laid out, then the interior decor. You should not cross the threads too often; the toy should be fairly flat. Once you are finished, dry the item and remove it from the pins and tie a loop in the eye. If desired, you can decorate with sparkles or rain.

From wire

How to make New Year's toys with your own hands in just a couple of minutes? Use wire!

To make toys you will need:

  • two types of wire - thick and thin (thin wire can be replaced with bright threads, for example, floss. Pure white strong threads look very beautiful);
  • beads, beads;
  • colored tape;
  • pliers.
In order to make figures or balls for the Christmas tree, cut several pieces from thick wire and give them the shape that your New Year's decoration will have. In our case, this is a star, but you can use any geometric shapes and simple silhouettes.

The ends of the thick wire need to be twisted. You need to string beads and seed beads mixed together on a thin wire, tie the end of the thin wire to the future Christmas tree decoration, and wrap it randomly.

When the toy is evenly wrapped, you need to wrap the free tail of the wire around the toy and tie a ribbon in the shape of a bow - your toy is ready.

Another original idea:

Made from ribbon and beads

Who said that making New Year's toys with your own hands must take a long time and painstakingly? Not at all. In just five minutes you can create one that will decorate both the New Year’s tree and the interior.

You will need:

  • beads;
  • narrow tape;
  • yellow, golden or silver cardboard;
  • glue "Second";
  • needle and thread.
We fold the ribbon like an accordion and string it on a thread, after each loop of the ribbon you need to string a bead. The more “tiers”, the smaller they are - you see, a Christmas tree is already starting to look like. When the ribbon ends, you need to tie the thread in a knot and cut out a small star from cardboard. Next, you need to glue your Christmas tree to the star, and make a loop on top so that the decoration can be easily hung.

Interior decor made in this way looks very attractive.

From cardboard - in a couple of minutes

Some New Year's toys made of paper or cardboard take a lot of time to make, but not in this case - here you really only need a couple of minutes to make an elegant hand-made New Year's decoration.

So, you will need:

  • ordinary cardboard;
  • a little twine or thick yarn;
  • glue;
  • paints and brushes;
  • napkin or cloth;
  • varied decor.
Make two figures out of cardboard, glue them together, placing a thread with a loop between them - the blank for the toy is ready.

Use a loose tail of twine to wrap the tree in different directions. After some kind of thread pattern appears on the tree, you can start gluing it with a napkin. You can tear the napkin into pieces, coat the tree well with glue, and seal it tightly with the napkin. This will give a nice texture to the future toy.

After the toy has dried, you can start painting - paint the Christmas tree green.

After the paint layer has dried, shade the texture of the toy using a dry, hard brush and white paint, and then decorate it to your taste.

From bright shreds

Here you will need a sewing machine, but if you really want to, you can do it without it. This is the best way to make Christmas toys from cotton wool and fabric - just choose fabric with a Christmas ornament, or use what you have on hand.

Prepare several paper patterns - for example, deer, stars, gingerbread men, bears, letters and hearts. Cut out fabric blanks with your own hands, sew them in pairs, leaving a small gap (for stuffing), and through this small hole, tightly stuff the toys with cotton wool or padding polyester. It is most convenient to fill with a pencil.

Patterns can be downloaded here:

By the way, don’t forget - we sew on a machine from the inside, but if you decide to make toys from thick fabric with your kids, then it is better to sew them with a decorative seam over the edge - a toy with your own hands will look simply charming and will be suitable for either a home Christmas tree or a kindergarten - Usually, for kindergarten Christmas trees, children make decorations themselves.

Made from twine and cardboard

New Year's toys made of paper and cardboard will be much more interesting if you add a couple of simple materials to them. To make such a toy you will need ordinary cardboard, simple paper or natural twine, a little felt or any other fabric, as well as ordinary paper, a pencil and ruler, and a drop of glue.

The star template can be downloaded here:

First, make a pattern on plain paper, and then transfer it to cardboard. Don't forget that the star must be double. You shouldn’t make the star too thin; it’s better to make it a centimeter or more. The tail of the twine is glued to the cardboard, then you need to gradually wrap the entire workpiece.

Place the thread as tightly as possible so that there are no gaps. To decorate the star, make a couple of leaves and berries from fabric and decorate one of the rays. Your decoration is ready.

From yarn and cardboard

Do you want to make original and at the same time charming Christmas tree decorations with your own hands? Then it's time to make small gift hats with your own hands from scrap materials. This is a wonderful Christmas gift that looks cute and will keep you warm all winter long!

To make Christmas tree decorations in the form of hats, you will need:

  • a couple of toilet paper rolls (you can just glue cardboard rings together);
  • remnants of colored yarn;
  • beads and sequins for decoration.
You need to glue rings approximately 1.5-2 cm wide from cardboard. If you are using a toilet paper roll as a base, cut it into several segments of approximately the same width.

The threads need to be cut into pieces of approximately 20-22 centimeters. We fold each piece in half, pass the loop through the cardboard ring, and pull the free edges of the threads through the loop. It is necessary that the thread is firmly fixed to the cardboard base. This needs to be repeated until the cardboard base is hidden under the threads.

All the thread tails need to be pulled through the ring so that our hat has a “lapel”.

Now we pull the loose tails tightly with thread and cut them into a pom-pom shape - the hat is ready! All that remains is to make a loop and decorate your Christmas tree toy with sequins and sparkles.

From beads

Making a New Year's toy in a minimalist style is easy and simple - you will need wire, beads and seed beads, a ribbon and a coin (can be replaced with a small candy, but it looks much more impressive with a coin). Try to make this Christmas tree toy with your own hands, the master class is very simple.

Make a loop on the wire and string green beads mixed with large beads on it - they will play the role of New Year's balls on our Christmas tree. Once the wire is filled, give it a herringbone shape by folding it in a spiral.

Once your tree has taken shape, bend the free edge into a loop.

We cut off a piece of ribbon, form a loop from it for hanging and pull it through the Christmas tree, and decorate the free tail with a coin (the easiest way is to glue it with double-sided tape). We tie a decorative bow on the hanging loop - your decor is ready!

Christmas balls

How to make a New Year's ball from threads? It’s as easy as shelling pears, watch our master class on spectacular lace balls for the Christmas tree.

Required:

  • several balloons;
  • cotton threads;
  • PVA, water and sugar;
  • scissors;
  • polymer glue;
  • spray paint;
  • decor.

First you need to inflate the balloon - not completely, but according to the size of the future decoration. Mix two tablespoons of water, two teaspoons of sugar and PVA glue (50 ml), and soak the thread in this mixture so that the thread is saturated. Then you need to wrap the ball with thread randomly. The balls need to be dried for several hours. After the glue has completely dried, you need to deflate the ball and take it out, and carefully paint the ball of thread with spray paint and decorate it with sequins and sparkles.

DIY thread Christmas balls will turn out to be very, very impressive if you make them in different tones - for example, red, silver and gold. Try to make New Year's balls with your own hands using different techniques - you can sew or knit balls, make them out of cotton wool with your own hands, or, for example, sew them out of felt - you can never have too many of these toys.

  • red, white and green felt;
  • red, white and green threads;
  • Crystal glue;
  • scissors and needles;
  • cardboard;
  • a little satin ribbon;
  • soft filler (cotton wool, holofiber, padding polyester).

First, make sketches for your future toys. It can be anything. Once the patterns are ready, transfer them to felt and cut them out. What is good about this material is that it does not crumble, you will not need to additionally process the edge of each workpiece.

Make identical decorative elements - for example, sprigs of holly (by the way, did you know that this is a symbol of joy and Christmas reconciliation?). The berries need to be glued to the leaf using glue, and then a decorative knot should be made - this will give the berries volume.

We sew each piece together in pairs. By the way, it is best to sew it with contrasting threads; it will be fun and elegant. How to make New Year's decorations voluminous? Stuff them with holofiber before sewing them up completely! Straighten the product well, so the Christmas tree toy will be filled more evenly. You can use the back of a pencil for stuffing.

Sew on the decorative elements and your New Year's toy is ready!

  • Place the triangle on the remaining circles, trace with a pencil and bend the edges outward along the lines.
  • Glue 10 circles together on both sides so that you get a strip: 5 circles on top, and 5 on the bottom. The strip must be glued into a ring. This will be the base for the ball.

  • Divide the 10 remaining parts into 5 pieces, which are glued into a circle. The result was two “lids”.

  • Glue the upper and lower “lid” to the base in sequence.
  • The loop by which the ball is suspended can be made from a thread threaded through the top of the toy with a needle, or from a beautiful ribbon. The ribbon loop is secured with a knot and threaded through the top of the ball “lid” before gluing it to the base. The knot remains inside the toy, and the loop remains outside.

Volumetric snowflake

Another indispensable attribute of the New Year is snowflakes. They can be the simplest, cut out of a sheet of paper in a random design, or they can be voluminous using the origami technique. We suggest making the latest version of the New Year's snowflake with your own hands.

To do this, you need to cut out six squares of the same size, fold each of them diagonally, and then in half. Parallel cuts are made along the fold. The square unfolds, the inner tabs are wrapped and fastened together.

The outer petals are connected to the same petals of the remaining squares. You can attach them using either glue or a regular stapler.

Everyone wants to give a surprise to their loved ones on Christmas and New Year. And you can bring the celebration closer with your creative powers. Take note of the original ideas that we have collected in the selection below, and then the upcoming winter holidays will sparkle with completely new colors. Don’t be afraid to create, involve everyone at home in the process - this will bring the family closer, and maybe even become the beginning of a new tradition.

Winter flowers

It’s not difficult to make a beautiful New Year’s tree bloom. In order to make such Christmas and New Year toys with your own hands on the eve of 2018, you don’t even need to use special colored paper, opting for old books or newspapers. Such buds will look original, and you will pay tribute to the currently fashionable eco-trend. So let's get started:

  • cut out a perfect square from paper;
  • fold it in the same way as shown in the photo;
  • repeat this with the remaining 4 sheets of paper;
  • glue the resulting blanks together to form a flower;
  • We decorate the middle with tinsel, beads, in a word, anything that seems suitable to you.

Ice shards

Who would have thought that old CDs could be used to create such creative balloons? Yes, in most cases, making New Year's Christmas tree decorations will not require either serious material expenditure or the skills of a professional designer. This is what the next master class proves.
To work, you will need transparent (in principle, you can use colored) plastic or glass balls, an unnecessary CD, scissors, and a glue gun.

  • using scissors, cut the CD into pieces of arbitrary shape and size;
  • Apply droplets of glue to the surface of the ball and fix the “mirror” fragments in the desired order, evenly covering the ball on all sides and leaving no empty spaces.

The result is a wonderful toy, no different from expensive designer works. Their soft shine will perfectly complement the overall impression of a magnificent Christmas tree.

Cute snowflakes

A simple but wonderful decoration in its laconism is snowflakes. Backing material... rolls left over from using toilet paper or kitchen towels. Also stock up on scissors, glue, decorative elements in the form of large rhinestones and thin fishing line. The whole process looks like this step by step:

  • we crush the sleeve, pressing it well from the edges;
  • cut the bushing into strips of equal width. The resulting elements are visually reminiscent of flower petals;
  • glue the resulting blanks together in the center so that you get a flower;
  • decorate the middle with rhinestones;
  • We thread a fishing line through one of the petals. That's it, the snowflake is ready to float near the branches of your Christmas tree.

Felt fantasy

Here are some more fun DIY crafts. The toy can become either an independent element of holiday decor or act as an integral part of an entire garland.

  • Cut out a square from felt of the desired color;
  • draw it out as shown in the photo;
  • cut along the lines with a stationery knife, not reaching the center;
  • glue the strips together, folding the corners on top of each other;
  • we alternate actions alternately from one side to the other;
  • We hang the finished toy on a fishing line, decorating it with beads.

If desired, you can create a whole vertical garland from several similar parts, interspersing them with beads. The toy can be hung on the Christmas tree or placed in the interior.

Snowball game

It’s very easy to make fluffy lumps of snow that won’t melt no matter how warm it is in your house. We use foam blanks in the form of balls, mother-of-pearl beads, sewing pins, glue, scissors, and braid. The process of making such a toy comes down to the following steps:

  • string beads onto pins;
  • Having coated the end of the pins with glue for better fixation, we stick them into the ball;
  • We continue this way until we cover the entire surface of the toy with beads;
  • We attach a braid or ribbon to the ball, using which we will hang the decoration on the Christmas tree.

Funny ninjas

Small ninja toys with cute moving eyes will save your home’s beautiful Christmas tree from being too formal. After all, looking at such New Year's decorations, you involuntarily want to smile.

To work, you will need very few materials: dark opaque balls (they can even be made of plastic), narrow ribbons of different colors, toy eyes (a pair for each ninja).

  • We wrap each ball with two turns of ribbon, securing the improvised fighter’s bandage to a knot at the back. For greater reliability, the tape can be placed on glue.
  • Glue the eyes to the ribbon on the front, that’s it – decorations for the New Year can be hung on the Christmas tree.

Beauty cone

An ordinary pine cone will fit perfectly into the New Year's decor. It would seem how unpretentious an accessory it is, and what wonderful toys can be made from it and how many ideas can be realized. The cone can simply be hung by a coarse twine, and the top can be decorated with a beautifully tied bow made of satin ribbon to match the overall color scheme. Or make New Year trees from pine cones, crowning them with numerous multi-colored plasticine balls. It seems simple, but it looks really unusual and creative.

Snowflakes made from... pasta

For a thrifty and creative housewife, even pasta can become the basis for creating amazingly beautiful decorations in the New Year 2018. You can give free rein to your imagination here - after all, each new snowflake can be completely different from the previous one. All you need to do is stock up on as many different types of pasta as possible in the nearest supermarket (flowers, Christmas trees, spirals, shells, etc.). You also cannot do without glue, white paint and braid (ribbon, fishing line, thread) for hanging.

We form the pattern starting from the center, maintaining symmetry. How the toys turn out depends only on your imagination. We glue the parts of the decoration together with glue. At the end of the work, paint the snowflake white, additionally decorating the decor with sparkles to your liking.

New Year's toys with sequins - festive glamor

You can surprise your loved ones on Christmas and New Year's Eve by making unusual, shiny decorations for the Christmas tree with your own hands. The special beauty of creating such balls is the process itself, which is addictive and very simple. So, we stock up on a small foam ball that fits easily in your hand, sequins of any color, and sewing pins.

We fix the sequins to the ball with pins, as shown in the photo, proceed sequentially, placing the shiny elements close to each other, avoiding gaps. When the ball is ready, all that remains is to place an element in its upper part to fix the decoration on the tree.

Who wants some ice cream?

Do you like ice cream? Why not decorate the Christmas tree with your favorite delicacy for the New Year, especially since you don’t need a lot of materials for this. It is enough to find thick paper to imitate waffle cones and colored napkins or small pieces of compressed paper, a needle, and thin fishing line. Having formed a cone from thick paper, we make ice cream balls from colored paper, the number of which depends on your desire. Then we form a loop from the fishing line, by which our sweets will be hung on the tree, and we thread it through our balls, as was done in the photo.

Rooster on the Christmas tree

It will look good made of paper or other materials. You can make a lot of these cockerels and collect the pendants into a garland to decorate your home. If you are going to make a paper cockerel, use cardboard as a base, which you will cover on both sides.

  1. You will need multi-colored sheets of colored paper (you can use colored cardboard) and a sheet of cardboard. Draw the silhouette of a rooster on cardboard and cut it out.
  2. Using a cardboard blank as a template where necessary, draw the details on colored paper (cardboard): head, torso, wings and tail - first fold the sheets in half so as not to waste time preparing blanks for the second side.
  3. The next stage: we cut out our blanks.
  4. Now we glue the parts made of colored paper (cardboard) onto the cardboard blank. After the cockerel has assembled into a whole picture, you can decorate it with sparkles, beads - whatever comes to mind.
  5. Make a hole in the blank, thread a ribbon and hang it on the tree.

You can make a similar toy from felt and also use it to decorate a Christmas tree.

Draw the pattern by hand or use any ready-made one, for example, this one:

Homemade cockerels made using the origami technique will look original.

pillow toy

A difficult, but very exciting activity in making toys is creating a pillow in the form of a symbol of the year, which will delight you not only in the year of the Rooster, but much longer. You will need a pattern, fabric, filler, felt (depending on the chosen model), thread and needles. Here it's a matter of small things, we trace the pattern, sew the parts together, leaving a hole to fill the pillow with filler. We turn it inside out, put the filling inside the toy, and sew it up until the end.

There is also a more complex plan with fabric painting - this is batik, thanks to which the pillow will acquire a bright color. After you have traced the cockerel on the fabric, paint it using special paints; they can be replaced with gouache if you mix it with PVA glue. We leave it for a day so that the paint dries and continue to finish the pillow in the shape of a rooster.

From salt dough

Children are often asked to bring some New Year's crafts to school competitions. Make it from salt dough. A craft made from bioceramics can also be an excellent gift from children to grandparents. Moreover, this activity is so exciting that it quite claims to be a hobby.

Before you make a toy from salt dough, you need to prepare the dough itself. To prepare the dough, use fine table salt, regular wheat flour and water in a ratio of 2:4:2, respectively. First, mix flour and salt, and then add warm water, kneading the dough thoroughly for at least 10 minutes.

There is another recipe for making dough. In this case, take flour and salt in the same proportions, only the flour is pre-sifted. You need to take a little less than 1 1/3 cups of water. The cooking method will vary. According to this recipe, water must be brought to a boil and salt dissolved in it. Only then is flour added.

When the dough is ready, start making crafts. If you are making crafts with your child, simplify the task by using cookie cutters, for example, in the shape of Christmas trees or bunnies - you will get wonderful Christmas tree decorations. Make a toy (you can use beads or seed beads for decoration), don’t forget to make a hole at the top. To harden the toy, it is left for 24 hours or baked in the oven. After the toy has hardened, it is painted with acrylic paints, gouache, watercolors, allowed to dry thoroughly and coated with either colorless nail polish or nitro varnish for wood. Thread a thread or ribbon through the hole. So the New Year's gift is ready.

Soap figures

Soap is always useful. A little unexpectedly, soap can also be used to decorate a Christmas tree. Soap toys for the Christmas tree are made by hand. The process is simple. First, we grate the baby soap on a coarse grater, melt it in a hot bath (make sure no bubbles form), pour the liquid into a mold and leave until it hardens.

  1. If you want to make colored soap with a pleasant aroma, then add dyes to the base - these can be either food coloring or the juice of berries or vegetables, for example, cherries, beets, carrots. Smell can be added using perfumes or flavorings.
  2. If you use a ready-made transparent soap base instead of baby soap, you can make soap with a “filler”. After you fill the mold halfway with melted soap, let it sit for 20-30 minutes, place a slice of lemon or orange on top, coffee beans and fill the mold completely with soapy liquid.
  3. In order for the soap to also have a beneficial cosmetic effect, ground coffee is added to the base, which will work as a scrub, various oils, lemon zest, and ground oatmeal. Such a toy, which doubles as an excellent gift, will definitely not go unnoticed.

Big toys

Using threads, you can also create wonderful jewelry of rather large size - giants. Just inflate the balloon, wrap it with a thread soaked in PVA glue and leave it for 24 hours. After drying, the ball is burst, leaving an airy New Year's toy made of threads, which, for decorative purposes, can be coated with silver or gold paint, decorated with beads, seed beads, sequins, and ribbons. Thread the ribbon and the accessory is ready. If you prepare two or three balls of different sizes, you can make a snowman.

Christmas trees are made from threads using the same principle. Use a Whatman paper cone as the base on which you will wind the thread. You can make such a toy in miniature if you take a simple sheet of cardboard instead of whatman paper. Light beads and ribbon bows are useful for decoration.
