Toys for the New Year's street tree. Large New Year's toys for the city tree. What do we use for the material?

We are used to the fact that on the eve of the New Year we only study, but it happens that at school children are asked to do DIY toys for the city Christmas tree. The best works are given the honor of decorating the most important New Year's tree in the city. If you have been given such an honor, then we invite you to quickly familiarize yourself with our selection of master classes on creating such an interesting Christmas tree decor.

DIY Christmas tree toy for the city Christmas tree

Let's start with the fact that those made for a street Christmas tree should differ in several respects from “home” ones. So, their sizes should be much larger, because such crafts will be admired from afar. That is why it is best to use waste materials for production, because if you use others, the craft will ultimately turn out to be very expensive. In addition, the materials must not be afraid of bad weather conditions, be it frost or rain, because they will show off on the city Christmas tree for quite a long time - they cannot become unusable after a short time.

DIY New Year's toys for the city tree made from disks

Everyone probably has a lot of old CDs and DVDs gathering dust at home, they are scratched and no longer needed, but for some reason you can’t raise your hand to throw away these beautiful “glitters” and rightly so, because they will turn out great.

To create a smooth mirror ball, you should take a bunch of CDs and cut them into 2cm squares. The middle isn't shiny, so you don't need to use it. And here is a useful tip that will allow you to cut the discs evenly and without chipping - before starting work, you need to lower each disc for a couple of seconds in fairly hot water, this will allow them to soften and cut without problems.

Take the blank ball. When we do, we use small foam blanks that can be purchased at the store. If necessary make a toy for the city Christmas tree with your own hands, then such a mold will not work, it will be too small. You'll have to remember your papier-mâché making skills and make a large piece.

Pierce the ball all the way through and thread a piece of fishing line, with which you will then hang the disco ball. Using a glue gun, cover the entire ball-blank with shiny squares. They should be very close to each other and in even rows.

You can also make another variation of the same idea. In this case, the CDs should be broken randomly so that the result is fairly large fragments. Pierce the papier-mâché base with wire and make a loop and secure it. Make a hook at the other end of the wire piece. Using a glue gun, glue the disk fragments so that their tips “look” in different directions.

If you want to make the largest Christmas ball, then you can not cut the disks at all, but use them entirely. The photo shows a version of such a craft, which you can make quite quickly.

Find out more about how you can do a lot of interesting and wonderful things.

Large do-it-yourself city Christmas tree toy

Of course, fairly large “homemade” ones will look most impressive on a street Christmas tree. We invite you to create a wonderful three-dimensional snowman that will certainly create a New Year's mood for everyone who sees it.

To complete this original craft, you will need to prepare 4 packages of white plastic cups (100 pieces in each package). You will also need staples for a stapler and tinsel, with which you can decorate a ready-made snowman. You can’t do without colored paper, which is often used in creation because absolutely everything is decorated.

Proceed to secure the cups using a stapler. The cups have a cone shape, which is why, as a result of fastening, the result will be a circle. For the bottom "snowball" you need to fasten 26 plastic objects. For the second circle, you will also need to take 26 pieces, and fasten the plastic in several places - both with each other and with the glasses of the previous row. So move forward in creating the “tinkering machine” row by row. In total you will have approximately 8-9 rows.

Make the second “snowball” by analogy, only you should have 25 cups in diameter. By the way, you don’t have to secure the cups completely - leave an empty space, with which you can then attach the balls to each other. In the same way, make the third, smallest lump, which should take you 10 cups in diameter.

Assemble the snowman figurine, and then start decorating. Using a stapler, secure the tinsel between the second and third lumps (then the wind cannot blow it away). Make parts for the face from colored paper, just remember that the toy will hang outside, which means that all paper parts should be pre-laminated with tape. And, of course, think over a hanging system so that the figurine can be hung on the Christmas tree. As you can see, a step-by-step description of how to make a craft will allow you to easily bring your ideas to life, everything is so simple that you don’t even need to make it DIY toys for the city Christmas tree video.

Find out also how to make, by the way, you can also create a New Year's tree from plastic cups.

The same material can be used to create a giant Christmas ball. It can be made in the same way as the “lump” of a snowman, or you can use another scheme, in which you should first make several “flowers with three petals” and “taxi checkers”, then all the blanks need to be put together to form a spherical shape. Don't forget to make a loop with which to hang the craft (use synthetic lace of the required size). Use fluffy tinsel to decorate.

DIY rooster toy for the city Christmas tree

A bright and beautiful cockerel in itself can be an excellent decoration, but it is necessary to remember that the coming 2017 will pass under the auspices of the rooster, which is why you should definitely make such a Christmas tree decoration.

The main material will be a plastic bottle. Plastic is a waste material that can withstand bad weather - an ideal choice for outdoor art! Prepare a bottle with a capacity of 1.5-2 liters, however, if you want the cockerel to be clearly visible, then you can use a plastic five-liter bottle - the principle of operation will be the same.

It is best if the container is dark in color, in which case it will not need to be painted. If the bottle's shade or transparency is unsuitable, it will need to be pre-painted in the desired color.

You should not cut the vessel, because it will be completely used for making New Year's crafts. But another plastic container should be used up - you need to cut out details such as wings and scallops. Don’t worry, absolutely nothing will happen to plastic on the street - it won’t fade quickly in the sun, won’t crack, won’t get wet, which is why your cockerel will evoke admiring exclamations from children and adults for a long time.

The eyes can also be cut out and attached, or you can draw them, just choose paints that can withstand precipitation - oil, acrylic, enamels. You can also take stained glass paints for glass. By the way, at the end of the work it is better to open everything with transparent varnish - this way the craft will last longer and you can decorate the Christmas tree with it next year.

In order to attach a double comb to the cockerel’s head, you need to make a couple of cuts on the sides of the neck. Insert the comb and seal. The neck of the bottle will be inside the comb - this is very convenient and will make the “homemade product” more attractive and similar to a real bird.

Make holes in the right places and attach other elements, for example, wings, tail, using wire. It’s very good if you can tint the wire to match the color of the craft - in this case it will not be visible.

And as a substitute, make cockerels from salt dough - they will certainly bring good luck in the coming year.

Do-it-yourself waterproof toy for the city Christmas tree

You can create wonderful bright crafts using threads, but in order for them to become waterproof and hold their shape well, you will need to glue the threads.

Thread the thread through a needle (you can use either wool yarn, iris or floss). Use a needle to pierce the bottle of PVA glue (we recommend that you take an almost empty bottle). Pull the thread through the container with glue, and then remove the needle - it is no longer needed to create a Christmas tree decoration.

Inflate a balloon (you can take a fairly large one, because you want your toy to stand out on the city Christmas tree, attracting attention), grease it with Vaseline. Now rather chaotically wrap the balloon with glued thread, wrap it in such a way that you have a hole left through which you can later remove the remains of the balloon.

Leave the workpiece wrapped in threads for about a day - this time should be enough for the PVA glue to dry and for the threads to hold the shape they propose. Pierce the ball and carefully remove the rubber “rag”.

And, of course, you need to worry about decorating the “homemade” - thread a ribbon inside, which will act as a suspension. Attach a decorative snowflake to the surface (it can also be made from glued threads, or you can cut it out using the same irreplaceable plastic bottles), you can also glue the “rain”. Spray the result of your efforts with glitter hairspray.

Sew it and it will help you make your apartment more comfortable and bright.

Our publication presents ideas for crafts for every taste, use them, and you and your child will surely win do-it-yourself city Christmas tree toy competition.

DIY Christmas toy dog for the Christmas tree - a symbol of the coming year

Since the Year of the Yellow Dog awaits us ahead, it is necessary that this symbol be present in the New Year's interior, in particular on the Christmas tree. A do-it-yourself New Year's dog toy for the Christmas tree can be made in different ways. The simplest one is to cut out a dog from cardboard, adding eyes, ears, and a mouth to it - you can keep your child busy with this creative process. Draw a template and cut it out, and the children will use the template to make many of these small dogs, decorate them and make a garland out of them, hanging them on a long thread or tinsel.

While they are busy with such a fascinating process, you can make New Year’s toys for the Christmas tree with your own hands for 2018, “dogs” from fabric. Felt fabric is often used for these purposes, which holds its shape well and has a rich palette of colorful colors. In the photo in our article we have collected examples of patterns that will help you sew cute doggies. After cutting out the blanks, sew them together and stuff them with padding polyester (don’t forget to insert the ears). The eyes can be made from beads, and a small red cap with a loop can be sewn onto the head.

Bones, also sewn from fabric or made from puff pastry, will help to appease the mistress of the coming year, the recipe for which will be discussed in further material.

How to make Christmas toys with your own hands from paper

Colored and white paper give a lot of scope for creativity. It is especially easy for children to work with this material. It allows you to create a wide variety of decorations: garlands, New Year's toys and snowflakes with your own hands. In order to make the simplest chain garland, you need to take colored paper, preferably double-sided. Cut out thin strips of 1 cm of equal length from it at your discretion. Using PVA glue, glue the ends of the first strip together. We thread each next strip into the previous ring, also glue it together and get a link. This garland can be used to decorate a Christmas tree or the walls and ceiling of a room.

To make multi-colored “snowflakes” for your Christmas tree with your own hands, you need four sheets of paper of different colors. We cut out symmetrical snowflakes from them, as shown in the photo, bend them in half and glue them together with edges, not forgetting to insert a loop. In this way you can make bells, stars, etc. If you make three balls of different sizes and glue them closely onto one thread, you will get a three-dimensional snowman.

Original DIY Christmas toys for a Christmas tree made from light bulbs

If a light bulb burns out in your home, don’t rush to throw it away; it can become an excellent material for making a variety of decorations. For example, you can make Christmas tree decorations from light bulbs with your own hands (photos are presented in the article) using the decoupage technique. For this you will need beautiful napkins. The light bulb can be pre-painted with white acrylic paint. We cut out an image from a napkin, and applying it to the surface, using a brush, apply PVA glue on top. You need to work very carefully so that “ribs” do not form, since it will be very difficult to level them so as not to damage the design.

While the toy is still wet, you can sprinkle it with glitter (they will also help hide some flaws). The loop can be glued using a heat gun. Light bulbs can be painted by making Christmas tree decorations with your own hands in the form of Santa Clauses, dogs, penguins, snowmen, etc. in this way you will create original, unique decorations, practically without material costs.

DIY New Year's bell toys

The bell is an integral attribute of the New Year, since at all times it was believed that its ringing drives away evil forces and protects the house from various troubles. A bell can be cut out of cardboard, decorated with beads, sparkles and a loop. There are also other simple ways to make New Year's bell toys with your own hands. For example, sew. Any fabric is used for these purposes.

Make a template on cardboard. Cut out the blanks according to the template, sew them together, stuffing them with padding polyester or fabric scraps in the process. Make a loop. The product can be trimmed with beads, decorated with small multi-colored buttons, sprinkled with glitter, after applying glue to the surface.

Another way to make New Year's toys in the form of bells with your own hands is to use plastic, namely glasses and bottles. You can wrap the glass in foil (for glue), make a hole in the bottom with an awl and pull through a loop. The edges of the product can be decorated with tinsel or artificial snow. In a plastic bottle, you need to cut off the top part, which is with a cap, and decorate it with paints. We also make a loop on which we tie a large bow. While the paint is still wet, you can apply a layer of glitter.

DIY Christmas toy clock for the Christmas tree

A beautiful decoration reminiscent of the approaching celebration will be a DIY New Year's toy clock for the Christmas tree. You can make it using a cardboard box, which everyone probably has in their home. The most important thing is to cut the roof correctly. To do this, you need to draw it on the front and rear panels and cut it off, and cut the top strip above them in half and glue the roof together, thus forming two gentle slopes. In the future, they can be decorated with cotton wool or white tinsel in the form of snow.

We paint the blank and, after drying, proceed to designing the dial. You can simply draw it using a compass, stick on numbers and arrows cut out of colored paper, use buttons and other materials. You can make your own New Year's Christmas tree clock toys using DVDs, which are easy to draw on with a marker, to decorate the dial.

Having decorated the dial in a way convenient for you, we begin decorating using artificial snow, beads, tinsel and other materials. If our clock will hang on the tree, we need to make a loop to the roof by piercing two holes with an awl and stretching the braid. At the bottom you can put two cords in the same way and decorate them with cones. Your DIY Christmas tree clock toy is ready.

DIY Christmas toys for the street tree

It’s also worth considering decorations for the street - this could be a DIY New Year’s toy for a city tree or for a green beauty in the courtyard of a private house. In any case, it is necessary to choose the right material that will not be afraid of moisture. For example, it is very good to use plastic bottles for these purposes, which are suitable both in size and in terms of moisture resistance and plasticity of the material.

The easiest way is to make a large candy toy by wrapping a bottle in bright foil and twisting the ends. It can be decorated with bows and a loop attached. With the help of paints, a large 5-liter bottle can easily be transformed into a fairy-tale house, and charming New Year's penguin toys for the Christmas tree with your own hands, photos of which are posted in our article, will become a real fairy-tale decoration.

New Year's bells can be made from flower pots. Wrap them in foil, glue on multi-colored tinsel, bows, and ribbons. You can connect two bells together, make a loop and decorate it with a star.

Polystyrene foam can also be a good material for making Christmas tree decorations with your own hands. Cut a circle out of it, treat it with golden sparkles or wrap it in tinsel, first smearing it with glue. Thus, you will get a blank for a wreath. Below you can make a composition from pine cones, artificial flowers, berries and other materials, which can also be given a golden hue. Attach a fluffy bow and a loop at the top.

The ideas for DIY Christmas tree decorations are endless. Looking around, you can find a lot of material that is perfect for decorating the New Year's beauty's decorations. Imagine, experiment and don’t forget to involve children with their unbridled imagination in this exciting process.

Whether you make one toy or want to decorate the entire Christmas tree with handmade decorations, the creative process will bring you real pleasure. And if you involve children, preparing for the New Year will become even more fun. Materials for unusual crafts can be easily found at home or purchased at craft stores.

In this article:

What will we make from?

You can literally create New Year's decorations for the Christmas tree from scrap materials. For the decorations that we propose to make, you will need:

  • scissors,
  • glue,
  • threads,
  • needle,
  • pins,
  • ribbons,
  • spray paint,
  • foam blanks,
  • stuffing for soft toys,
  • cardboard.

The main materials will be:

  • buttons,
  • beads, beads,
  • wire,
  • wool balls,
  • pom-poms,
  • fleece or plush,
  • cones, nuts, acorns, seeds,
  • pasta,
  • paper,
  • felt,
  • newspapers.

Christmas tree decorations made from buttons

Crafts made from simple buttons look unusual.

For a multi-colored ball you will need:

  • foam blank,
  • buttons of different colors and sizes,
  • pins with beaded caps,
  • ribbon.

Pin the buttons to the blank with pins and tie a loop of ribbon. You can even decorate a street Christmas tree with these balls - they are durable and resistant to low temperatures, snow and dampness.

The basis for the second decoration is the same foam base, painted golden. If you glue matching buttons to it and pick up a ribbon with gold thread, you will get a decoration in a “retro” style.

It's even easier to make a Christmas tree. Materials:

  • 10 – 12 green buttons of different diameters, 4 identical brown buttons for the barrel, a star button.
  • a thread,
  • needle.

Using a needle, string the buttons onto a thick green thread: first the star, then the buttons from smaller to larger diameters, and finally the barrel. Return the thread through the second holes in reverse order. Fasten the thread.

The base of the star in pastel colors is a foam star. In addition, you need light-colored buttons of different sizes and styles, and a glue gun. To make the surface voluminous, you need to glue the buttons overlapping, without trying to maintain symmetry.

Bead crafts

This is one of the most interesting materials to create due to the variety of shapes, colors and sizes.

For a multi-colored ball you will need:

  • foam base,
  • beads of different colors,
  • strong thread,
  • needle,
  • universal glue,
  • end cap for beads with a loop,
  • ribbon.

String beads onto a thread, coat the base with glue, and glue them down in a spiral. Finally, attach the bead end, thread it through the loop and tie a ribbon.

Snowflake stars, bells and other decorations are made from beads, bugles and beads of different sizes.

For the star you need:

  • wire star,
  • thin wire,
  • beads, beads of different colors and sizes.

String beads and seed beads onto a thin wire. Wrap the star with wire in any order.

Small pasta pieces will make an elegant decoration reminiscent of lace.

Will need:

  • small round balloon,
  • PVA glue,
  • small pasta,
  • ribbon,
  • decorative rope,
  • tweezers.

Inflate the ball to the desired size, grease it with glue, roll it over the pasta poured onto the table so that it sticks evenly. Leave a hole about 1 cm in size. If necessary, trim the parts with tweezers. When the glue is completely dry, pierce the base, pull it out, and seal the hole. Color the product, attach a loop, tie a bow.

For a photo frame on the Christmas tree, cut out a cardboard star, stick pasta on it, leaving a space in the center for the photo. Paint the craft, glue a photo, sew on a loop.

If you have skills in quilling techniques, make graceful, delicate figures and. Roll up paper motifs and glue them to the base. Additionally decorate with small beads.

This technique can be used for other Christmas tree decorations:

Christmas tree decorations made of threads

From simple threads that can be found in every home, you can make some wonderful light Christmas tree decorations. You will need:

  • threads,
  • PVA glue,
  • small round balloons,
  • beads,
  • spray paint,
  • scissors,
  • cardboard,
  • wire star,
  • disposable food tray,
  • pins,
  • decorative elements (pine cones, ribbons).

Soak the thread in glue and wrap it around a balloon inflated to the desired size. Let the glue dry, blow off the base and take it out. Decorate the craft with ribbons and pine cones.

Cut out a Christmas tree from cardboard, wrap it tightly with thread with beads strung, and paint it.

It's even easier to make a star. Give the wire a star shape or take a blank and wrap it with thread.

The threads can be easily shaped into almost any shape. To get a star or an angel, pin the outline of the future figure with pins, wind the threads in random order, and coat with glue for strength. When the glue dries, all that remains is to remove the pins and, if necessary, decorate the figurine.

Felt crafts

Felt and decorative items made from it are sold in hobby stores. It’s a pleasure to work with - it doesn’t crumble and it’s convenient to cut out parts of any size. You will also need some stuffing for soft toys, glue, threads, and beads.

Decorate your Christmas tree with a delicate ball with floral motifs. It will work if you cover the base with small felt flowers and beads.

Cut out the details of the future figurine from multi-colored pieces of felt, sew along the contour, and fill with filler. Embroider small details (eyes, mouth) or draw with a felt-tip pen.

How to make a felt toy (step by step)

The pattern can be almost anything. This master class will show the principle of working with felt using an asterisk as an example. We will need:

  • cardboard,
  • scissors,
  • felt,
  • needle,
  • threads,
  • braid,
  • small buttons,
  • ribbon.

Cut out cardboard patterns (hearts, stars, people), cut out felt parts from them, decorate them with braid, buttons, stitch around the perimeter with a decorative seam, stuff with filler, sew on a loop.

Decorations made from colorful paper

Even from such a simple, familiar material you can make interesting Christmas tree decorations. Handicraft stores have a large selection of paper in original colors and unusual textures.

To make funny deer, cut out strips for the ball and details for the face. Glue the strips into a ball and glue on the muzzle.

Anyone can do it. An interesting pattern of material and decorative elements will transform even such a simple craft.

Step-by-step master classes

Cut out 5 strips of paper as shown in the picture. Fold them like an accordion and glue the circles together. Collect and fasten the pine cone.

From nuts

It’s easy to make original Christmas tree decorations from the caps of acorns, nuts, and seeds, treated with gold paint or glitter.

Paint the outside of the acorn caps with glitter paint, glue them to the base, tie a matching bow, and fasten a loop.

A large festive New Year's ball will be made from walnuts painted with gold paint. Glue the nuts onto the workpiece, attach decorative leaves, and tie a ribbon. These balls can be used to decorate a window or even a large city Christmas tree.

Smaller toys can be made from seeds using the same principle. They will look very original on the Christmas tree.
