What types of baby cereals are there?

All instant porridges differ according to several criteria.

Milk content. Porridges come in milk and dairy-free varieties.
Milk porridges contain a certain proportion of milk powder, which adds additional nutrients (calcium, vitamins A and B2, etc.) to the child’s daily diet. Pediatricians recommend dairy-free cereals for babies with dietary intake of cow's milk proteins and other forms of malabsorption. There are a number of cereals that contain not just powdered milk, but a substitute for human milk.

Variety of grains. Porridges can be monograin (i.e., made from only one type of grain) or mixed (from several types of grains). It is recommended to start complementary feeding with monocomponent porridge.
