Building parts to measure

How to create a pattern for a bat dress directly on fabric? Stages:

the canvas is folded in four;
draw a line at the height of the chest from the folded corner - this will be the height of the armhole;
on the resulting line measure ¼ of the chest circumference;
at the waist height + 20 cm, draw a line on which ¼ of the hip circumference is marked;
at the neckline, measure the length of the sleeve + 7 cm from the corner - this will be the border of the sleeve;
mark a neckline 7 cm wide, the edge of which is raised by 1.5 cm;
from the resulting point, lower the sleeve line so that the edge of the cuff is lowered 7 cm from the top fold;
connect the ¼ points of the chest and hip circumferences and draw a smooth line at the bottom of the sleeve so that the cuff remains 9 cm wide.

That's it, the cut details can be cut out and sewn.

Building parts using a T-shirt

The option with a T-shirt cut is suitable if the product is sewn from knitwear. The bat dress pattern is constructed as follows:

the canvas is folded in four;
the T-shirt is folded in half and applied to the laid out fabric so that the corner of the folded fabric is near the neckline;
the T-shirt is outlined and removed;
the shoulder section is extended by the required amount;

How to sew a “bat” is immediately built on the canvas, the parts are cut out with a small allowance of 0.5-0.7 cm. For fabrics such as diving, Lacoste, oil, jersey and velor, a regular machine stitch will be sufficient.

When cutting the dress, do not forget to add seam allowances: 2 cm to the sleeve sections, the same amount to the shoulder sections, 1 cm to the bottom of the sleeve, and 3 to 4 cm to the bottom section. If you are planning a cuff, add to its sections 1 cm and the same amount to the edge of the sleeve.

For sewing a fashionable blouse, the sleeves of which are made in the “bat” style,

required: knitted fabric 1.5 m wide and a length equal to two lengths of the jacket plus 40 centimeters for the hem, belt at the bottom of the blouse and on the sleeve cuffs.

The cuffs are made of rectangular fabric, the height of which is 14 centimeters and the length of the wrist circumference, taking into account a seam allowance of 6 centimeters.

The tied belt is made of fabric 1.7 m long (if the hip volume is 100 cm) or 1.5 m long (if the hip volume is up to 100 cm). The height of the fabric for the belt is 14 centimeters. Please note that the pattern posted here does not include seam allowance, so do not forget to add 2 centimeters for the neckline hem and 1 centimeter for the seam allowance.

For the summer it is better to use light, better natural materials: linen, cotton. Chiffon looks great. In such blouses you will feel comfortable and feminine. For cooler weather, knitwear, cashmere, and velor are suitable. This model does not have a collar. Instead of a collar, jewelry is used here. The sleeve length can be different, usually it is ¾, this is the type of blouse that looks more romantic.

Pattern No. 3

This pattern is for short sleeves. Summer option. Easy to cut and not difficult to sew. Even a novice dressmaker can handle it.

The “bat” blouse is a very simple model even for beginners; it is enough to know the basics of pattern making and machine sewing. Any fabric can be suitable. Silk, cotton, linen - if we make a summer version, but thick knitwear, thin wool and even velvet - for warmer times. If the width of the selected fabric is 150 cm, it will be necessary to take such a length that two lengths of the blouse fit, in addition, it is advisable to provide 10 cm for processing the bottom. Sewing the product

What measurements do we need for work:

Wrist circumference;
Hip girth;
Back length to waist;

Shoulder length (from the base of the neck to the hem) and sleeves:

It is necessary to fold the fabric crosswise so that the front side is inside. And again we fold only lengthwise, this fold will serve as the center of the front and back.

Be sure to check that all edges are folded evenly and without distortion. If there are problems with this at the very beginning, it will be difficult to change the product later.

Using the folded middle, measure the length of the product. On the side that runs perpendicular, we will set aside 9 cm and also the length of the sleeve and shoulder. We go down to the future bottom of the blouse and put a quarter of the thigh circumference on it. We connect the resulting line with the edge of the wrist with a line in the form of an arc. Thus we formed a “wing”. If you want to sew a model with cuffs, then cut out two trapezoids, the height of which is equal to the length of the cuff, and the width is the circumference of the wrist in the area just below the elbow.

Don’t forget about the allowances: for the bottom and sleeves - 3, 4, 5 centimeters, for other seams - 1-1.5 cm. For the neckline, we make a small indentation, then we try it on and, having measured the required depth of the neckline, we remove the excess. The pattern is ready!

You can not only sew it from fabric, but also knit or crochet blouses.

We use elastic stitch or zigzag stitch in sewing. We start with the neckline, cover it with binding, which we stretch a little when sewing. In this case, measure about 5 mm for the allowance. We fold the binding and sew the seam. We can use the facing. We cut out a piece of knitwear (if we use it for a blouse), which matches the neck of the product in length and is 4.5-5 centimeters in width. We combine the prepared element with the main pattern and sew them face to face. Leave an allowance of five millimeters and cut off the excess. Turn the facing inside out and sew the neckline along the edge.

Now let's move on to the main pattern. Fold it over the shoulders with the right side inward, sewing the side seams and sleeves. If you have an overlocker, then go over it along the seam inside. If not, you can replace it with a double stitch (when two needles are used at the same time, every sewing machine has it).

If you are planning a model with cuffs, then we sew them along the length and attach them to the sleeves. We take on the processing of the bottom of the product and the sleeves, bending the allowances twice and stitching. Be sure to iron all seams. At this stage, we try on the product so that changes can be made if necessary.

The neckline can be absolutely anything: oval, triangle. You can sew ties to decorate the neck area. For a summer blouse, you can cut out a deep neckline on the back, and if we make it wider, the model can be worn with one shoulder exposed. Winter options are best equipped with a collar.

Blouse with cut sleeves

The pattern of this option is designed for full ladies (bust 100 cm, hips 106 cm, sleeves 61 cm).

You will need to make parts for the front, back and two sleeves. The pieces for each sleeve measure 15 by 4 cm. In addition to the allowances taken into account for the bottom of the product and sleeves, it is necessary to mark the supply of fabric for all other seams. The seams are processed with a zigzag.

We iron the seam allowances on the wrong side and sew them on;
connect the shoulders of both halves. In this case, we sew the seam allowance on the neckline manually;
sew in the sleeves;
sew the seams of the sides and sleeves;
fold the allowances of the bottom of the sleeves, front and back to the wrong side and sew;
step back from the sleeve seam by 3 mm and make a stitch. At the same time, we correlate the marks on the pattern. Pull the threads to 12 cm and secure with a knot;
We fold the strips of fabric in half and sew them at a distance of five millimeters from the edge. Turn it inside out and iron it;
We attach these strips to the sleeves, forming an assembly, and grind them.

This pattern will allow you to sew not only a blouse, but also a tunic and dress. You can also choose a variety of sleeve lengths: short, three-quarters or seven-eighths. You can decorate the product with lace, either ready-made or hand-knitted.

It happens that you made a neckline that was too deep (for example, you sewed a product for another person, but didn’t succeed in trying it on), then lace with a dense pattern can be used to cover the flaw. If you take cotton fabric or linen, you can decorate the neckline and sleeves with embroidery.
