Fashionable men's hat with knitted elastic band. Knitting hats for men: double, ear flaps, with visor and lapel, beanie, good luck zigzag. Step-by-step instructions with descriptions and diagrams. Men's hat with knitting pompom: diagram and description

Hand-knitted hats are at the peak of popularity today. They not only look stylish and original, but also fulfill their main function - they keep you warm in extreme cold. A men's knitted hat can be made in either a business or sporty style, be fancy or overly formal, but it will always be special and unusual.

In the Middle Ages, a knight’s head was protected by a helmet on the battlefield, and now a young man’s head is protected by a warm hat in winter. And no matter how our men insist that they don’t freeze at all in the winter cold, they can’t be allowed out of the house without a hat! And so that the husband has nothing to object to, we knit him a stylish hat and scarf with our own hands. If you want to make a surprise, you can carefully take the dimensions of the head while he is sleeping: you will need the circumference and height. Our article will help you choose a pattern and style, and use MK and an instructional video to knit.

DIY knitted hats are at the peak of popularity today

The simplest model of headdress for men is, of course, a beanie hat. It is also often called a stocking cap. It is knitted in regular stockinette stitch and looks democratic and informal. It can be called both sports and classic.

  • 100 g yarn;
  • knitting needles No. 2.5;
  • centimeter;
  • needle.

We knit, guided by the following description:

  1. Cast on 140 stitches, add a couple of edge stitches, after which you can start knitting with an elastic band.
  2. Alternate a pair of knit stitches with a pair of purl stitches.
  3. In this way, knit a total of six rows.
  4. After this, continue knitting with stockinette stitch. The length of the product made according to this scheme should be only seventeen centimeters.
  5. Then start decreasing, knitting a pair of loops in every third row at once.
  6. Pull the remaining loops and tighten tightly.

Carefully sew the finished product.

Knitted double hat with earflaps

An original, warm hat with ears will look great not only on boys. For young guys and even mature men, such a headdress will become the most favorite, because it looks good, and winter frosts are not terrible with it, which is the main advantage of earflaps.

Required materials and tools:

  • 200 g wool yarn;
  • 200 g acrylic;
  • circular knitting needles.

An original, warm hat with ears will look great not only on boys

How to knit a fashionable hat:

  1. Cast on 120 stitches with acrylic threads, then knit just one row.
  2. Immediately switch to wool yarn and follow the pattern to knit another 80 rows.
  3. Knit exactly the same number of lines on the bottom.
  4. After this, the loops need to be reduced, dividing all the loops into 26 parts of five loops each.
  5. Move the even parts to one knitting needle, and immediately move the non-black parts to the other.
  6. The first step is to start decreasing the stitches from the bottom bottom by knitting a pair of outer knit stitches together.
  7. Simply pull off the remaining six loops.
  8. By analogy with the lower bottom, make a decrease on the upper one.
  9. Pull both bottoms together, resulting in a fold.
  10. Divide the circle into six parts, four of which will go to the back of the head and ears, and the remaining pair to the visor.
  11. Immediately knit the back of the head and start knitting the ears.
  12. Leave 25 loops for the ears, and thirty for the back of the head.
  13. Cut off the auxiliary thread and insert knitting needles into the loops that appear, knit a total of twenty lines of the ears, without knitting the back of the head and constantly not knitting a pair of loops in each row.
  14. Knit until there are only four working stitches left.
  15. After this, add a pair of loops in each row.
  16. Pick up thirty back stitches and knit eighty stitches.
  17. The visor is knitted in the same way as the ears, decreasing a couple of loops in each row.
  18. When there are only 14 loops left, you need to add a pair of loops in each line.
  19. Pick up all the loops of the inner part and knit 72 rows of the inner part, then close the loops.

Cool hat for a guy for the winter, knitted

New, modern models of knitted hats are suitable for brave, self-confident guys. The most unusual youth hat is knitted according to a simple pattern. To tie it, no special knowledge or skills are simply needed.

Required tools and materials:

  • 200 g yarn;
  • knitting needles No. 5 on fishing line.

How to knit:

  1. First of all, cast on 90 stitches.
  2. Raise by eight centimeters with an elastic band, alternating a pair of knit stitches and a pair of purl stitches.
  3. Then just knit about ten centimeters in stockinette stitch.
  4. After this, remove fifteen stitches evenly in a circle.
  5. Knit another ten centimeters in satin stitch.
  6. Reduce the number of stitches by fifteen.
  7. Each time, after knitting ten centimeters in satin stitch, repeat the decrease.
  8. Only when only thirty loops remain do you need to thread a thread through them and tighten them.

At the end of the headdress, attach a pompom or make a tassel.

Patterns for men's hats for beginners

Men's hats are most often knitted using stockinette stitch. However, craftsmen are increasingly trying to make this piece of clothing more refined and original. A hat decorated with braids or geometric shapes looks beautiful.

To knit a braid pattern you need to do the following:

  1. Knit all odd rows with knit six.
  2. Even numbers - purl.
  3. Only on the seventh row, remove three loops on an additional knitting needle, knit three knit stitches and also three knit stitches with the auxiliary needle.
  4. The pattern includes only ten rows, which must be repeated until the desired length is achieved.

A hat decorated with braids or geometric shapes looks beautiful

The classic checkerboard pattern is knitted according to the following pattern:

  1. Cast on loops, the number of which should be a multiple of four and an additional two for the edge.
  2. Knit the first row four knit stitches and the same number of purl stitches.
  3. The second and all even rows are knitted in accordance with the pattern of the fabric.
  4. In the third row, knit and purl four again.
  5. Fifth row - first purl four, and then knit the same number.

The seventh row is knitted according to the same principle.

Knitting a men's cap: master class

For many years, the cap has been considered the most popular among both men and women. It’s quite difficult to find the perfect item in a store, but knitting it takes a few hours.

Required tools and materials:

  • 100 g yarn;
  • 60 g hat elastic;
  • five knitting needles No. 6.5;
  • hook No. 6.5;
  • needle.

For many years now, the most popular among both men and women has been the cap.

Progress:

  1. Make a sliding loop with a crochet hook and pull out eight loops from it.
  2. Transfer a pair of loops onto the knitting needles. It is these loops that will always be the front ones, the leading ones.
  3. Knit a circular line, adding loops in front of the leading ones.
  4. The next row is also knitted, but the loops are added after the leading ones.
  5. After this, knit even rows with purls and odd rows with knits.
  6. You need to add loops on the seventh, thirteenth, seventeenth, as well as the twenty-third and twenty-seventh lines.
  7. After this you need to make a decrease. In total, five stitches need to be removed from each knitting needle in seventeen rows.
  8. Then take the hook and knit three lines of half-stitches behind the back wall of the loops.
  9. Raise the loops for the future visor from the half-loops of the band (39 in total).
  10. Alternate rows of purl and knit stitches, adding stitches only in the second case.

Using a hook, connect the visor with the remaining open loops.

The most original models of men's hats

Classic headdresses have long ceased to surprise any man. But funny, unusual hats will cause them great delight. Even if such a product is not worn in everyday life, it will lift your spirits and will be an excellent addition to a carnival costume.

Read the description. Knitting a hat for a man as a gift, what could be easier? I thought... However, difficulties immediately arose; our preferences did not coincide at all. My husband is very conservative when choosing colors and patterns for knitwear. I really like to knit arans, which he doesn't like, jacquard wasn't even discussed as a men's option.

They agreed that the hat would be gray in color and have a completely non-convex pattern. I had to hang out on the Internet for more than one day, and yet I found it, the suitable pattern was approved, the color of the yarn too, the rest, as they say, is a matter of technology.

We knitted this striped hat from section-dyed RED HEART Team Spirit yarn. Let us remind you that a few earlier we knitted a men's striped scarf from the same yarn.

For the white and yellow striped hat we will need one skein of RED HEART Team Spirit section dyed yarn No. 984 in yellow and white. For a hat with white and green stripes, we will need section-dyed RED HEART Team Spirit yarn No. 968 in white and green color. One skein of RED HEART Team Spirit yarn contains 141 grams and 223 meters of thread.

Other materials for knitting youth men's hats

  • Knitting needles with a diameter of 5.5 mm [in the American system corresponds to US size 9].
  • Needle with a wide eye for stitching.

Knitting density of a stylish striped hat

  • 16 loops per 10 cm wide
  • 20 rows per 10 cm height

If the knitting density on the knitting pattern you knitted does not match the specified data, we recommend taking knitting needles of a different number (thinner or thicker, depending on whether the knitting pattern you knitted was larger or smaller in size, and re-knit).

Description and knitting pattern for a hat

For work we need yarn 50g/100m, knitting needles 3-3.5 mm, knitting needles 4-5 mm.

  1. Cast on the required number of loops for the elastic (must be a multiple of 4) on smaller circular needles - 3mm-3.5mm

We knit 8 rows of elastic, knit 2 x purl 2 (rapport - 4 loops).

We switch to larger knitting needles - 4-5mm.

  1. We knit 8 rows of the “voluminous transverse stripes” pattern (but we do 2 purl, knit 2 - rapport 4 loops, not 6 as in the diagram!).

“Relief rim” - 1st row - purl, 2nd row - knit, 3rd row - purl.

Note. You can knit 5 rows instead of three, that is, add a front row at the beginning and at the end. (Otherwise it merges with the stripes of patterns!).

  1. We knit 8 rows of the “large pearl stitch” pattern. "Relief rim".
  2. We knit 8 rows of the “garter rib - purl elastic” pattern. "Relief rim".
  3. We knit 8 rows of the “voluminous transverse stripes” pattern. "Relief rim".
  4. We knit 8 rows of the “large pearl stitch” pattern.
    We begin decreasing the “Embossed rim”.
  5. Let's continue decreasing! We knit 8 rows of the “garter rib - purl elastic” pattern. "Relief rim".

Notes: 3 textured patterns can be replaced with any others from the collection of sock patterns - only with the same number of repeat loops. The number of vertical rows can also be changed from 8 to 10-12 rows, depending on the knitting density.

How to knit a hat for a man or a teenage boy as a beginner?

If you are just starting to master the art of knitting, but already want to please your men (husband, son, brother, father) with a new headdress, then you will need:

  • knitting threads (yarn);
  • knitting needles, they can be circular, stocking, straight;
  • ability to understand diagrams.

Knowing how to knit only two stitches - front and back, it is quite possible to knit a simple men's hat. The main thing is to choose yarn for the season:

  • spring-autumn - acrylic, cotton, linen or silk threads;
  • winter - wool, terry.

Now you need to choose the right knitting needles. This is quite easy to do, since all skeins of yarn indicate the numbers of knitting needles and hooks that are suitable for working with this yarn.

After preparing the knitting props, you can start knitting. Next, you need to follow the instructions, diagrams and descriptions that tell you how to knit a headdress. A selection of the most interesting models can be found below.

This hat can be knitted both in winter and for the spring-autumn season. The instructions are written for the size 60 model. To work you need to prepare:

  • yarn – 150 g;
  • circular knitting needles No. 3.

On circular needles No. 3, cast on 94 stitches. Knit with an elastic band 1X1 (alternately knit, purl). Raise the work to a height of 20 cm. Next, make four decreases, every 21 loops. They are made by knitting two loops together. It is reduced only on the front side.

When there are 12 loops left in the work, pull the yarn through them and tighten. Using the same thread, sew a seam at the back of the finished product.

Assembling a men's hat: sewing the finished hat.

For some reason, it is generally accepted that if there is a lapel, then it should be present on women’s hats. By the way, about knitting women’s hat patterns, read the article: ““. But note that men's hats with this attribute look very impressive.

Before you start working on such a model (size 54–58) you will need:

  • stocking needles No. 7;
  • yarn - 150 g, you should focus on yarn with 70% acrylic and 30% wool.

Cast on 16–18 stitches on each of the four working needles. Raise the work with a 2X2 elastic band in a circle.

When the hat is raised to a height of 25 cm, decrease 4 loops on all needles. The purl stitches are reduced, leaving two knit stitches, one purl stitch, knitted from two, etc. At the end there should be 48 stitches left in the work. Following the figure, raise two rows, then, using the same principle, cut off the front loops. It turns out that the work switches to a 1X1 elastic band.

Raise 2 rows according to the picture. Knit all the loops of the new row two together using a knit stitch. Again two rows, according to the drawing, after - again knit all the loops in two. As a result, there should be 8 loops left on the working knitting needles. Break the yarn and pull it through the remaining loops, tighten, and the flap hat is ready.

The lapel in this model is 6–8 cm.

Knitted stocking hat for men

It is best to choose soft threads (wool + acrylic) for such a hat. For knitting you need to stock up:

  • yarn – 150 g;
  • knitting needles No. 2.5 and No. 3;
  • thread and needle.

For this option, it is better to choose stocking needles. For a hat size 54–58, you need to cast on 158–170 stitches on needles No. 2.5. Knit with an elastic band 1X1 to a height of 5 cm. Evenly decrease 30-34 loops, transfer the work to needles No. 3. Raise the work up 30 cm, close all the loops. Now you need to turn the resulting pipe into a beautiful stocking hat.

Stylish knitted double hat for a teenager

A double hat is warmer because it has a double wall, but knitting it also requires more yarn and patience.

  • yarn – 250–300 g;
  • stocking needles No. 3 or No. 3.5.

We knit a double cap size 58 as follows.
To make a double-sided set of 112 loops, how this is done is shown below in the video lesson.
Knit 37 cm in stockinette stitch to one side and make a pattern. We offer possible options for jacquard patterns that can be used to decorate a double hat.

After completing the pattern, you need to evenly round the product both at the bottom and at the top. To do this, decrease at the beginning and end of each knitting needle in each row.

Decrease on all four needles, a total of 10 loops should remain, pull the torn yarn through them and tighten the product.

For such a cool men's “shapuli” you will need:

  • knitting threads – 200–250 g;
  • knitting needles No. 5, preferably on a fishing line.
  1. Cast on 90 stitches.
  2. Use a 2X2 elastic band to raise 5–8 cm.
  3. Afterwards, knit 10 cm in stockinette stitch. If desired, you can make a jacquard pattern or inscription on this part.
  4. Decrease 15 stitches evenly in one row. Knit another 10 cm.
  5. Cut another 15 stitches evenly. Carry out this reduction of 15 loops every 8–10 cm.
  6. After 30 loops remain on the knitting needles, thread the yarn through them and tighten. Make a tassel or pompom at the end of the product.

Of course, not every man will agree to wear this version of the “shapuli”, so we offer options for caps in a more classic style.

Simple children's hat for a boy with a pompom knitted

To knit such a cute hat for your child, you need to stock up on:

  • 150 g yarn;
  • knitting needles on fishing line No. 4 and No. 4.5;
  • needle and thread;
  • scissors.

Cast on 108 stitches on needles No. 4 and mark the beginning of the row with a marker. Knit in the round, raise the 2X2 elastic band 5 cm up. Knit the work on knitting needles No. 4.5. Now knit the initial part of the cap as follows:

  • first row: 1 purl (edge) stitch, pull a knit stitch from the broach, knit 15 knit stitches, 2 purl stitches, pull one knit stitch from the broach, 15 knit stitches and so on until the end of the row.
  • second row: 1 purl (edge), 16 knit stitches, 2 purl stitches, 16 knit stitches, etc.

Pull the yarn through the loops that remain open and pull them together. Make a pompom.

Using a needle and thread, sew it on the top of the head.

The description is given for a hat without ears; if necessary, they can be knitted separately.

Knitted men's hats with description

Cast on 73 loops and knit in stockinette stitch, that is, alternating: knit one row with knit stitches, and the next row with purl stitches. Continue in this way until the end of knitting the hat, that is, until the length of the fabric is 18 cm. At this height, knit the last row with purl loops and then proceed to form the crown, that is, begin to gradually decrease the loops in this way:

Knit - repeat the operation enclosed between the square brackets 4 times and finish by knitting the last stitch.

Knit the next row with purl stitches.

Knit the next row like this: [knit 2 stitches together, knit up to 2 stitches before the marker, slip 1 stitch, knit 1 stitch and pull this loop through the slipped one] – repeat the operation inside the square brackets a total of four times, knit the last one loop like 1 knit stitch.

Repeat knitting the last two rows until there are 9 loops left on the knitting needle.

Close the loops. Before cutting the working thread, unwind and leave a long enough end so that this thread is enough to complete the seam. Sew a longitudinal seam on the cap using the remaining working thread and a wide eye needle. Pull the crown of the hat and, if necessary, make a few securing stitches on the wrong side.

Patterns for knitting men's hats

We’ve sorted out the question of how to knit a men’s headdress, now I want to focus on patterns that will look great on men’s hats.

Zigzag pattern

But how you can use such zigzags in knitting a hat is described in detail in the video master class below.

Diamond pattern

Beautiful, discreet, laconic pattern. Suitable for making a headdress for both a teenage boy and an older man.

Norwegian pattern

Pearl pattern

The pearl pattern is one of the most popular among beginners. It is knitted very simply, but the products look rich and voluminous. For those who are just getting acquainted with the art of knitting, this is the best option.

Knitted men's hats have long been established in the world of men's fashion. Of course, there are brave men who, even in the cold, flaunt without hats. Most men don't like to be cold. We have collected the most fashionable branded models and will knit them with our own hands.

Knitting a men's hat is a short and interesting process. Our models are all with diagrams and descriptions. Try knitting a hat using our master class and you will appreciate our work and conscientiousness. All hats are youth, branded. Let's start knitting with the simplest model - a beanie hat.

A beanie hat is the simplest and most democratic hat, knitted with the most ordinary knitting - stockinette stitch, without pompoms, ruffles, or ties. It is also called a stocking hat or a beanbag hat. This hat fits tightly to the head and comes in different lengths. It can be of regular length (26-28 cm), or it can be like a cap (30-32 cm). We will make a hat 28 cm long.

To work you need:

  1. Yarn (wool or wool with mohair), 100 grams, thread in 2 folds.
  2. Knitting needles number 2.5 mm.
  3. Centimeter

When choosing threads, give preference to those whose 100 grams of weight contain 250 meters of length. We don't need thick threads. Let the threads be thinner, then the hat will look neater. The knitting should be tight, without gaps. Determine the knitting density.

Knitting density is the number of loops and rows needed to knit a fabric measuring 10/10 cm.

It is very important to correctly calculate the density so as not to re-bandage. Knit a control sample and see how many loops you have in 1 cm. Measure the circumference of your head and multiply by the resulting figure. This is how many stitches you will cast on your knitting needles. We will knit on two needles, then we will sew the fabric. For size 57 I take 142 loops (2.5 loops in 1cm * 57 cm) = 142. Add 2 edge loops. We cast on 142 stitches on 2 knitting needles and started knitting with an elastic band.

Row 1: knit 2 - purl 2, knit 2, purl 2. and so on.

Row 2: how the knitting looks.

3rd row: same as 1st.

We knit with an elastic band up to the 7th row. From the 7th row we begin to knit with facial stitches. We knit in stockinette stitch 17 cm. Next we begin decreasing. Decrease 2 stitches together in every third row. We collect the rest of the loops and pull them together tighter. Leave the end of the loop, thread it through a needle and carefully sew up the side seam.

In the video: a fashionable men's hat with knitting needles, detailed MK.

Fashionable men's branded hat. We knit with an elastic band, k1, p1. Hat with a lapel. The lapel is double elastic. It may also be blue, with red and white stripes. We knit on 4 needles.

To work you need:

  1. Yarn (wool or 50% wool, 50% acrylic) 150 grams, in 2 threads. A little red and blue.
  2. Knitting needles 3 mm.
  3. Centimeter.

Knit the sample with knit 2/2 stitches and count how many stitches are in 1 cm of the sample. For example, we need to knit a size 56 hat; there are 2 loops in 1 cm. This means you need to cast on 56 * 2 = 112 loops. We cast on 112 loops on 4 knitting needles with red thread and knit 2 rows with a 2/2 elastic band:

Row 1: knit 2, purl 2, knit 2, etc.

2 p.: how the mating looks.

3 rows, white yarn: knit 2, purl 2, knit 2, etc.

4 p.: how the mating looks.

5 rows: blue yarn: knit 2, purl 2, etc.

Row 1: k1, p1. K1, p1. etc.

We knit 15 cm with a 1/1 elastic band and begin decreasing. We begin to decrease: we divide the fabric into 6 parts, we begin to make decreases in every 3 rows. We knit 2 loops together throughout the entire row. After 9 cm we tighten the remaining loops with thread.

Sew the pompom to the hat. If you find it difficult to knit on 4 needles, you can knit on 2 and sew.

The hat is fashionable, branded, original, 28 cm high. We knit it from gray or dark blue yarn.

To work you need:

  1. Yarn (70% wool 30% pan) gray or dark blue.
  2. Knitting needles 2.5 mm.
  3. Centimeter.
  4. Needle.

Knit a 2/2 cm elastic band sample. See how many loops there are in 1 cm. Measure the volume of your head with a centimeter. For example, you got 2.5 loops in 1 cm. Therefore, in 56 centimeters there will be 56 * 2.5 = 140 loops. We knit a hat size 56.

The pattern is called “Celtic braid”:

Celtic pattern on 18 loops.

Pattern Description:

  • Rows 1, 5, 9, 13 and 17 are knitted with knit stitches.
  • Row 2 and all even rows are knitted purl.
  • 3rd row - cross 6 loops with a slant to the left.
  • Row 7 - knit 3, cross 6 stitches with a slant to the right, cross 6 stitches with a slant to the right, knit 3.

Explanations for the pattern:

  • Cross 6 loops to the right (slip 3 loops onto an auxiliary needle and leave them before work, 3 knit stitches, then knit 3 knit loops from an auxiliary needle).
  • Cross 6 loops to the left (slip 3 loops onto the auxiliary needle and leave them at work, 3 knit stitches, then knit 3 knit loops from the auxiliary needle).

We will knit on 2 needles, as the pattern is complex. We found it with difficulty. Cast on 138 stitches on knitting needles. We knit 12 rows with an elastic band, knit 2 - purl 2. (2/2).

  • Row 1: knit the entire row with knit stitches.
  • Row 2: Purl the entire row.
  • Row 3: p1, k3, p1, 6 loops cross with a slant to the left (see Explanations for the pattern), cross 6 loops with a slant to the left, 6 loops cross with a slant to the left, p1, k3, p1, 6 loops cross to the left, 6 sts cross to the left, cross 6 loops, p1, k3, p1, cross 6 sts, cross 6 sts, cross 6 loops, and repeat from the beginning of the row. The result should be 138 loops.
  • Row 4: purl all over.
  • Row 5: knit all.
  • Row 6: purl all over.
  • Row 7: p1, k3, p4, 6 loops crossed with a slant to the right (see explanation), 6 loops crossed to the right, p4, k3, p4, 6 loops crossed with a slant to the right, 6 loops crossed to the right, p4 , k3, p4, 6 stitches crossed to the right, 6 stitches crossed to the right, p3, and repeat from the beginning of the row
  • Row 8: purl all over.
  • 9 row as 1st.

After you knit 20 cm from the beginning of the hat, start decreasing. Only the front surface. Divide the knitting into 4 parts, marking these places with a bright thread. Decrease by knitting 2 together, in the end the hat should be 27-28 cm.

Instructions

Calculate the required number of loops for knitting a men's hat. The easiest way to do this is to knit a square of fabric 10 by 10 centimeters. Using a tailor's meter, measure the circumference of your head (along the line of the upper half of your forehead) and attach a knitting sample to the centimeter divisions. If in the fabric that you knitted as an example, it turns out to be 33 rows and 28 loops. In this case, take needles No. 3 (preferably circular) and cast on 142 stitches.

Start knitting the headpiece with a 2x2 rib (two knit stitches and two purl stitches) and make the knitted fabric 14 cm high (you can adjust the size if the future owner of the knitted hat tries on the unfinished work).

Next, begin to decrease the loops in the following sequence: in the next front row you need to alternate two front loops with two purl ones, knitted together. The row should end with knit stitches, and the fabric should decrease by only 35 stitches (142-35=107).

Continue working, slightly modifying the elastic pattern: two purl loops and one knit stitch now alternate throughout this entire row. It will end with a pair of purl stitches. Make 5 rows with this elastic band.

On the sixth row the loops are shortened again. Knit knit; then knit two stitches together, also knit; again facial, etc. At the end of the row, the rib will turn into stockinette stitch. By this point, in our example there will be 72 loops left on the knitting needles. Work 3 rows in stockinette stitch. To do this, knit them on the front side with knit stitches, and on the back side with purl stitches.

Then continue knitting, gradually shortening the fabric to smoothly round the product. Alternations in working rows will look like this:
- 3 knit, two loops are knitted together, knit and knit again;
- 3 rows in stockinette stitch;
- 2 facial, 2 joint facial and 2 facial;
- knit 3 rows in stocking stitch;
- 3 “stocking” rows; there are 44 loops left on the knitting needles;
- alternate a knit stitch with two subsequent knit stitches knitted together.

Knit the top of the headdress: work one purl row, and then knit each pair of loops together. Your hat is almost ready. All that remains is to string the remaining open loops onto a short thread of the same color that was used to make the entire product. Pull the top of the hat as tightly as possible and use a hook to drag the loose “tail” to the wrong side of the item. Place the part face down and carefully make a connecting seam.

A warm and beautiful hat is perfect for both a tracksuit and a fashionable jacket. To make this hat you will need:
- yarn "Mondial Delicata Baby" (100% merino) olive, gray or dark blue - 50g/215m;
- yarn "Mondial Delicata Baby" (100% merino) white, black or other contrasting color - 50g/215m;
- circular knitting needles No. 4.

Before starting work, knit the sample with facial loops. The knitting density should be 20 loops per 10 cm. If on your sample two loops fit in one centimeter, knit according to the pattern described below.

Cast on 96 stitches. Close the work in a circle. Pull the beacon thread so you can see the beginning of the row. Knit 6 cm with 2x2 rib (knit two, purl two).

To decrease the work, divide the total number of loops by 4. Knit 2 loops together and pull through the third at the dividing line. Through the last 8 loops, pull the thread in a circle as you knit. Tighten and secure the end of the thread from the inside.

Recently, beanie hats have come into fashion - the simplest and most affordable hats made with ordinary knitting. Usually a beanie (they are also called a stocking cap or a bean bag hat) is knitted using stockinette stitch. In this case, no finishing elements are used. These hats fit tightly to the head. The length of beanie hats varies: regular (26-28 cm) or long (30-32 cm).
For work you will need: yarn (wool or wool with mohair), 2 folds, 100 g, knitting needles No. 2.5, darning needle, measuring tape.

With the cold weather approaching, everyone wants to protect themselves from adverse weather conditions. A warm, reliable, knitted hat can serve as a good assistant for this. Men love to wear products made by caring female hands. A men's hat is knitted from various threads according to different patterns. In this case, various knitting techniques can be used. Schemes and descriptions of patterns for men's hats when knitting are worth considering in more detail.

Preparing for work

Many people wonder where they can find instructions explaining how to make men's hats with knitting needles with diagrams and descriptions. If you are going to start knitting a men's hat, you need to stock up on all the necessary tools and materials in advance. Careful preparation for work will allow you not to be interrupted due to a lack of yarn or incorrectly selected knitting needles.

Selection of tools

Before you begin the process of knitting a hat, you need to stock up on knitting tools. Both straight stocking needles and circular knitting needles can be used. The number of knitting needles is usually selected depending on the thickness of the thread used. For an elastic and soft fabric that is pleasant to the touch, you should choose knitting needles with a diameter larger than the slightly twisted yarn from which the product will be made. If you need to make a hat from dense, windproof fabric, then you should use knitting needles of a smaller diameter.

Necessary materials

In order to select the necessary yarn to knit a men's hat, you should study the variety of market materials offered. Today there is a wide range to choose from, both natural, and synthetic threads for knitting. Speaking about natural materials, we should mention:

  • wool (alpaca, angora, merino, as well as mohair, cashmere);
  • cotton;
  • hemp;
  • silk;
  • bamboo, etc.

Synthetic fibers include:

  • microfiber;
  • metallic;
  • nylon;
  • acrylic, etc.

It should be noted, what for knitting original products Mixtures of fibers can also be used, the most common of which are:

  • wool mixture;
  • mix fibers (chenille, pile yarn, etc.).

When buying yarn to knit a product, you need to decide how many threads you will need to make a hat. It is better to buy a little more yarn in advance than is recommended for the selected headdress model. Remains of yarn can be used if necessary to decorate or repair the product. Usually for a man's hat it is consumed, depending on head size and style, 100−200 grams of yarn.

If you liked the model of a knitted hat that you saw on someone or in a fashion magazine, this does not mean that it is ideal for your man. The choice of product model often depends on the shape and type of face of the owner of the headdress, as well as on the style of his clothing and preferred color scheme.

Depending on your face shape

Often, with the help of one or another style of knitted hat, you can both emphasize the advantages of your face and hide its shortcomings. So, for round-shaped faces, asymmetrical models are best suited, as well as hats with a pompom or earflaps, which visually hide the roundness of the face. For rectangular faces with a high forehead, beanie hats, stocking-shaped hats that can be lowered closer to the eyebrows, are great. A beanie hat is also perfect for those with an ideal head shape, as it can be worn on the very top of the head, exposing the ears, which is dictated by modern fashion.

Owners of such a feature of appearance as a long nose are recommended to choose knitted hats with a visor or lapel, which help smooth out the proportions of the face . Helmets also fit well with this type of appearance.

Influence of clothing style

For men who prefer a classic style of clothing, knitted hats with a similar style are suitable. In combination with a scarf, such hats will well complement the image of their owners.

For those who prefer a casual style, knitted hats are perfect, allowing you to create volume and asymmetry. . These include:

  • hats and socks;
  • bean bag hats;
  • beanie hats.

For men who use a sporty style even in everyday life, tight-fitting hats with a simple style are well suited. In addition, the sporty style implies the absence of knitted hanging elements and elaborate patterns.

Large knitted hats, as well as models of non-standard styles (with folds, pom-poms, lapels and ears), are very popular among informals. Non-standard images allow you to create the ears of various animals.

Suitable color

The color scheme when choosing a headdress may depend on the color of outerwear, accessories, hair and eye color, etc. So , black suits brunettes better and dark shades of the hat. And hats in bright colors will also look contrasting. Blondes will suit pastel-colored hats that match the color of their skin and eyes. For owners of red hair, knitted hats are suitable, emphasizing their fiery temperament and cheerful disposition.

It’s good to have hats of different colors in your arsenal, which will allow you to select the right ones depending on the type of activity, recreation or events you attend. In addition, a brightly colored hat can always cheer up not only its owner, but also those around him.
